e-Commerce Yemen’s Managing Director Ahmed A Baharoon was interviewed by Nicolas Cameron, CEO of AsiaBusinessInvestor.com on Thursday, Feb 12th . The interview comes as recognition to the company’s efforts and success in the past couple of years and the positive message it sends about the country.

In a question about the purpose of establishing ECY in Yemen, Baharoon said, “we believed that the Yemeni market is still an early developed market for many products and services especially IT related and consultation services, certainly e-commerce is in its very basic forms here, we thought that we could provide great services and products that could help others in terms of quality and cost and strengthen our position in other countries such as the GCC”. Baharoon continued, “We’re moving towards outsourcing for the GCC as we have established a strong internationally acclaimed portfolio”.

Baharoon discussed his philosophy on outsourcing, “I think outsourcing at this stage is important for many companies because of the devastating effects of the financial crises, companies will concentrate on being better competitors by relaying on marketing materials –web presence included- and we are in a position to offer great quality services for less”.

Baharoon was asked a few questions about his vision as an entrepreneur in Yemen and the challenges that face investors in the country and his advice on entrepreneurship in the country.
